In my previous post I mentioned that first condition to be an excellent purchaser is to love purchasing.

But why do some people love purchasing (and others do not)?

We love doing what fits with our strengths, our positive attitudes.

Using our strengths to do something we enjoy creates a connection. We improve ourselves, get better at our job and in the end, we are successful, even excellent in our work. And we all love being successful and excellent at something.

Which strengths or attitudes are important in purchasing?

From my point of view there are lot, but the most important are: being pro-active, confident, trustworthy, a hard worker and a good communicator. It’s also crucial to be analytical and systematic in approach.

But… what do you think?

If you are interested in investing in an exceptional team and increasing your company’s profitability, we encourage you to consider our next training focused on improving strategic purchasing skills. Additionally, please feel free to contact us for more information.
