So how can you manage a challenging negotiation? Prepare the negotiation properly.

By preparation we mean to analyze the volume and components, to analyze the supplier, to challenge all cost drivers and define targets, to analyze the market finding alternatives sources and after that create a clear strategy to create competition between all alternative sources.

All these steps must be done before negotiation; therefore, you will be prepared for the negotiation.

90% of “challenging” negotiations are challenging just because of lack of preparation, easily manageable if you work in advance in the properly.
